This page was set up primarily in response to the war in Iraq, which, all told, resulted in the deaths of well over 20,000 innocent people. Given that the current situation is a result of the war, we (by which I mean primarily US/UK) remain responsible for the continuing death toll, too. Yes, Saddam Hussein killed thousands of people, but if we have to justify our actions by comparing them to those of a brutal dictator, we've stooped very low indeed. Not to mention the fact that we turned a blind eye to those continuing abuses for many years, and once actively supported Saddam, providing him with - surprise,surprise, WMD.
Anyway, I now have an official blog, so expect rants to be there from now on. Unlike this page, however, there may be the ocasional bit of amusement there - you never know!
